Is MDPV legal in Ireland?

Legal status
Controlled. MDPV is caught by the cathinone generic definition scheduled under the Misuse of Drugs Act (Misuse of Drugs Regulations, 2011); the blanket Criminal Justice (Psychoactive Substances) Act 2010 also applies, and control is reinforced by EU Council Implementing Decision (EU) 2015/1875.
Consequences if caught
Illegal; possession and supply carry Misuse of Drugs Act penalties, with the CJ(PS) Act 2010 covering unscheduled psychoactives. No death penalty.
If prescribed or medical
MDPV has no recognised medical use and no lawful prescription route in Ireland.
Documentation
