Is MDPV legal in New Zealand?

- Controlled. MDPV is caught as a controlled drug analogue of pyrovalerone (a Class C1 drug) under the analogue provision of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1975, and is therefore treated as a Class C controlled drug.
- Consequences if caught
- Illegal as a Class C controlled drug (analogue); possession and supply carry Misuse of Drugs Act imprisonment penalties. No death penalty.
- If prescribed or medical
- MDPV has no recognised medical use and no lawful prescription route in New Zealand.
- Documentation
- No lawful personal-import route for a controlled-drug analogue; do not carry.
