- Controlled — GENERIC + BLANKET. Mephedrone is caught by the generic cathinone control added to the Misuse of Drugs Act 1977 by S.I. 199/2010 (11 May 2010), and separately by the blanket Criminal Justice (Psychoactive Substances) Act 2010.

- Controlled drug plus blanket PSA offences: possession and supply prosecuted; no death penalty in Ireland.
- If prescribed or medical
- Controlled drug with no recognised medical use and no lawful prescription route.
- Documentation
- No licit personal-import route for a controlled drug also covered by the PSA blanket ban.
