Is Delta-8-THC legal in Ireland?

- Controlled — delta-8-THC (Δ8-THC) is caught as a tetrahydrocannabinol under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1977 and its controlled-drug regulations (which schedule tetrahydrocannabinols and their isomers), so delta-8 is controlled as an isomer of THC; the Criminal Justice (Psychoactive Substances) Act 2010 is a blanket backstop. Distinct from cannabis, criminal to possess under s.3. No death penalty.

- No recognised medical use; delta-8-THC is not a prescribable medicine.
