Is Delta-8-THC legal in Italy?

Legal status
Controlled — delta-8-THC (Δ8-THC) is caught as a tetrahydrocannabinol under Tabella I of DPR 309/1990, which lists tetrahydrocannabinols and their isomers; delta-8 is controlled as an isomer of THC. Distinct from cannabis (recreational illegal but personal possession an administrative sanction) and from low-THC 'cannabis light'; consumer delta-8 is not lawful. No death penalty.
Consequences if caught
Personal possession is an administrative matter; dealing/trafficking 6–20 years.
If prescribed or medical
No recognised medical use; delta-8-THC is not a prescribable medicine (medical cannabis uses delta-9 products).
Documentation
No lawful personal import of a Tabella I tetrahydrocannabinol.
