- Unlawful possession draws multi-year imprisonment; trafficking above 5 g of morphine is death-eligible under Articles 118(2)/119(2).

- Available on prescription as a Golongan II narcotic for severe and cancer pain under BPOM controlled-drug rules.

- Carry a prescription and original packaging, declare controlled narcotics, and confirm import rules with BPOM before travel.
