- Methadone is a narcotic (środek odurzający, group I-N) under the Act on Counteracting Drug Addiction (2005) — full narcotic control.
- Consequences if caught
- Unlawful possession up to 3 years; supply up to 10–12 years.
- If prescribed or medical
- Prescribed for OST as the dominant substitution medicine (~96% of Polish OST) through programme sites with limited coverage; take-home restricted.
- Documentation
- Carry the INCB/Schengen certificate in original packaging; confirm with the GIF.
