- Buprenorphine is a controlled narcotic under the Counteracting Drug Addiction Act (2005) in a lighter tier than methadone; it accounts for a small share (under 4%) of Polish OST.
- Consequences if caught
- Unlawful possession up to 3 years (Art. 62); a small own-use amount may be dismissed.
- If prescribed or medical
- Prescribed within program-based OST (limited coverage), with restricted take-home.
- Documentation
- Import with a prescription or doctor's statement and a Schengen certificate, in original packaging.
