Is 3-MMC legal in Germany?
- Legal status
- 3-MMC (3-methylmethcathinone) is controlled: caught by the synthetic-cathinone structural class of the Neue-psychoaktive-Stoffe-Gesetz (NpSG, in force Nov 2016) and now also individually listed in Betäubungsmittelgesetz (BtMG) Anlage I (non-marketable, scientific use only); the EU Delegated Directive 2022/1326 obligation is transposed.
- Consequences if caught
- BtMG Anlage I / NpSG offences: possession and trafficking are criminal, with trafficking punishable by multi-year imprisonment. Non-death-penalty jurisdiction.
- If prescribed or medical
- Anlage I means no recognised medical use and no ordinary prescription route — lawful handling is confined to licensed scientific purposes.
- Documentation
- No lawful personal-import route; a controlled/NpSG substance cannot be brought in for personal use.
