Is 1P-LSD legal in Germany?

Confirmed against a primary sourceVerified July 14, 2026
Legal status
1P-LSD is controlled in Germany under the New Psychoactive Substances Act (Neue-psychoaktive-Stoffe-Gesetz, NpSG), caught by the Anlage's lysergic-acid-amide (Δ9,10-ergolene) substance group with effect from July 2019; it is not individually scheduled under the Narcotics Act (BtMG).
Consequences if caught
The NpSG makes commercial trade, manufacture, import/export and administering 1P-LSD to another person punishable (up to 3 years, or up to 10 years where minors are endangered or the offender acts commercially); acquisition and possession of small amounts for personal use are not in themselves criminalised under the NpSG.
If prescribed or medical
No marketing authorisation or prescription use; the NpSG bans placing the substance on the market outside narrow industrial and scientific exemptions.
Documentation
Confirmed via the NpSG and its Anlage (lysergamide/ergolene group defined by an ergolene core with an amide at position 8 and molar mass up to 600 u). The July 2019 amendment removed 1P-LSD from the German gray market; the group was later widened to catch 1cP-LSD (2021) and 1V-LSD (2022).
