- Tramadol is regulated as an Obat-Obat Tertentu (OOT) under BPOM Regulation 10/2019 and as a prescription-only 'hard drug' (Obat Keras); it is NOT a narcotic (Law 35/2009) or psychotropic, so it sits outside the golongan lists that carry capital penalties.
- Consequences if caught
- Distribution outside the OOT/prescription regime is penalised under the BPOM framework; tramadol is not death-eligible.
- If prescribed or medical
- Dispensed as a prescription-only OOT medicine.
- Documentation
- Bring a personal supply with a prescription and doctor's letter (unlike narcotics, this is generally allowed) and declare controlled medicines.
