Legal status
Controlled as a class. Turkey scheduled synthetic cannabinoids ('bonzai') by Cabinet decree extending the controlled-substances lists under the narcotics-control law, adding synthetic cannabinoids as chemical groups and named compounds since about 2012 and tracking the 1971 Convention Schedule II additions.
Consequences if caught
Illegal; possession and trafficking carry imprisonment under the narcotics-control law (Penal Code Arts 188/191). No death penalty (abolished).
If prescribed or medical
These synthetic cannabinoids have no recognised medical use and no lawful prescription route in Turkey.
Documentation
