Is Synthetic Cannabinoids (K2 / Spice) legal in United Arab Emirates?

- Controlled. UAE Federal Decree-Law 30/2021 carries detailed controlled tables covering new psychoactive substances, and synthetic cannabinoids are controlled as scheduled substances incorporating the synthetic cannabinoids added to Schedule II of the 1971 Convention. Capital exposure is via the trafficking regime (discretionary death penalty); the synthetic-cannabinoid-specific threshold is left to confirmation.
- Consequences if caught
- Illegal; zero-tolerance enforcement with trace amounts prosecuted, and trafficking is capital-eligible (discretionary). Do NOT carry.
- If prescribed or medical
- These synthetic cannabinoids have no recognised medical use and no lawful prescription route in the UAE.
- Documentation
- No lawful personal-import route; trace amounts prosecuted, do not carry.
