Is Delta-8-THC legal in United Arab Emirates?

- Controlled — delta-8-THC (Δ8-THC) is caught as a tetrahydrocannabinol under Federal Decree-Law No. 30 of 2021, whose Table No. 1 covers cannabis, cannabis extracts and THC; delta-8 is controlled as an isomer of THC. Distinct only in name from cannabis, a Table 1 narcotic. Trafficking is capital-eligible; the capital reach of a pure delta-8 isomer is left to confirmation.
- Consequences if caught
- Zero tolerance; possession and trafficking are serious offences; trafficking is death-eligible (life imprisonment common in practice).
- If prescribed or medical
- No recognised medical use; delta-8-THC is not a prescribable medicine.
- Documentation
- No lawful personal import; a controlled narcotic tetrahydrocannabinol.
