Is Pregabalin legal in Indonesia?

Confirmed against a primary sourceVerified July 14, 2026
Legal status
Pregabalin is a prescription-only 'hard drug' (Obat Keras) in Indonesia and is NOT a narcotic (Law 35/2009) or psychotropic — so it sits outside the golongan lists that carry capital penalties; it is a prescription medicine subject to BPOM monitoring rather than a controlled narcotic.
Consequences if caught
Distribution outside the prescription/BPOM framework is penalised under the medicines regime; pregabalin is not death-eligible.
If prescribed or medical
Dispensed as a prescription-only hard drug (Obat Keras).
Documentation
Bring a personal supply with a prescription and doctor's letter and declare controlled medicines on entry.
