Is Pregabalin legal in Italy?

- Pregabalin is a prescription-only medicine (ricetta ripetibile, RR) in Italy and is NOT placed in the controlled-substance tables of DPR 309/90 — it is dispensed as an ordinary gabapentinoid prescription, the same non-scheduled status as gabapentin, under AIFA monitoring.
- Consequences if caught
- Supply without authorisation is a medicines-law offence; there is no controlled-substance possession offence for pregabalin because it sits outside the DPR 309/90 tables.
- If prescribed or medical
- Prescribed as an ordinary prescription-only medicine (RR).
- Documentation
- Carry the original prescription with a personal supply; because it is not a tabella substance, a Schengen Article 75 certificate is not required.
