Is Ephedrine legal in Poland?

- Regulated as a chemical PRECURSOR (1988 UN Convention Table I — a methamphetamine precursor), NOT as a scheduled narcotic; an EU Category 1 scheduled substance enforced with the Act on Counteracting Drug Addiction (2005). Also a pharmacy medicine (single-sale limits). Not a scheduled narcotic itself.
- Consequences if caught
- Illicit diversion of the Category-1 precursor is a precursor-control offence; pharmacy sales are capped per transaction to curb meth-precursor smuggling.
- If prescribed or medical
- Also a pharmacy/prescription decongestant-bronchodilator medicine subject to sales limits; carry documentation for a personal supply.
- Documentation
- Medical cannabis has been legal since 1 November 2017 (prescription, pharmacy-dispensed, imported flower). There is no statutory 'small amount' threshold — courts decide case-by-case. CROSS-BORDER WARNING: a quantity legal in Germany becomes a crime on entering Poland (Schengen abolishes border controls, not national drug law). Carry any controlled medicine with its prescription and confirm requirements with your embassy before travel.
