Is Ephedrine legal in Poland?

- Not named in the Polish national list. A search of all three annexes for ephedrine and for pseudoephedrine returned nothing, so neither is a narcotic, a psychotropic or a new psychoactive substance under the 2005 Act. Ephedrine is regulated in Poland as a drug precursor and as a pharmacy medicine, under instruments outside the wykaz.
- Consequences if caught
- Capital exposure: none. Poland has no death penalty, and no drug offence attaches to this row at all on the list as read. No article 62 possession offence arises, because that provision operates on a substance specified in the regulation issued under article 44f and ephedrine is not specified there. The precursor regime is a different chapter of the same Act. Article 1 pkt 3 of the 2005 Act names the European drug precursor regulations as instruments the Act gives effect to, and the offences for diverting a scheduled precursor sit apart from article 62. The published Poland entry places ephedrine in Table I of the 1988 United Nations Convention and in Category 1 of the European precursor scheme, and records per transaction pharmacy sales limits. Those classifications are carried forward from the published Poland entry and were not re-derived in this pass. This absence is stated as at the consolidated text of 17 June 2024, Dz.U. 2024 poz. 1139, as that text stands after the amending regulations of 30 April 2025, Dz.U. 2025 poz. 598, and of 7 July 2026, Dz.U. 2026 poz. 934, read at api.sejm.gov.pl on 21 September 2026. The power to move the list belongs to the Minister of Health, exercised by rozporządzenie under article 44f of the 2005 Act, and that does not rule out a later rozporządzenie made after the date of this reading.
