Is 3-MMC legal in Netherlands?

- 3-MMC (3-methylmethcathinone) is individually scheduled by name — openly sold as a legal designer drug until it was added to Opiumwet Lijst II on 28 Oct 2021, then rescheduled up to Lijst I (hard drugs, parity with MDMA/cocaine) on 10 Apr 2023. This dedicated 2021–23 amendment, not any earlier mephedrone measure, is what made 3-MMC illegal here.
- Consequences if caught
- Lijst I (hard-drug) offences: possession, dealing, production and import/export are criminal, with trafficking carrying substantial imprisonment. Non-death-penalty jurisdiction.
- If prescribed or medical
- No recognised medical use and no lawful prescription route; a Lijst I hard drug.
- Documentation
- No lawful personal-import route; formerly grey-market, now a scheduled hard drug at customs.
