Is Synthetic Cannabinoids (K2 / Spice) legal in Iran?

- Controlled. Synthetic cannabinoids are controlled through Iran's Psychotropic Substances Act 1997, which incorporates the 1971 Convention schedules including the synthetic cannabinoids added to Schedule II. Capital reach is left to confirmation: the Anti-Narcotics Law capital thresholds are named for specific drugs (heroin/methamphetamine/opium/morphine), and synthetic-cannabinoid capital reach is not confirmable.
- Consequences if caught
- Illegal; possession and trafficking carry severe penalties with extreme death-penalty enforcement for named drugs. Synthetic-cannabinoid-specific capital reach left to confirmation. Do NOT carry.
- If prescribed or medical
- These synthetic cannabinoids have no recognised medical use and no lawful prescription route in Iran.
- Documentation
- No lawful personal-import route for controlled synthetic cannabinoids; do not carry.
