Is Oxycodone legal in Germany?

Oxycodone is a named narcotic in the prescribable tier of the German schedules. The dossier records the Anlage III row of the Betäubungsmittelgesetz as „Oxycodon | 14-Hydroxydihydrocodeinon | 4,5α-Epoxy-14-hydroxy-3-methoxy-17-methylmorphinan-6-on“. All three columns are filled and the second is the older descriptive synonym, which is useful in practice because it names the molecule by its relationship to the codeine series, while the third fixes the hydroxy group at position fourteen that distinguishes it from the related morphinans listed nearby. Placement is under BtMG § 1 Abs. 1 and the tier is Anlage III, the marketable and prescribable one, which is why the substance circulates lawfully in large quantities as a pain medicine.

Consequences if caught

Capital exposure: none. The dossier's penalty column records that no death-penalty regime applies in Germany. The penal provisions are BtMG §§ 29 bis 30a and the dossier gives the ceiling alone: not less than five years under § 30a Abs. 1, with a determinate sentence capped at fifteen years by StGB § 38 Abs. 2. No ordinary band is recorded and none is stated. On a heavily prescribed opioid the live question is usually diversion: tablets outside the dispensing route are inside the offence, and the fact that the same product is lawfully dispensed every day does not assist a holder who is outside that route.
