Is Oxycodone legal in Brunei?

Confirmed against a primary sourceVerified July 13, 2026
Legal status
Oxycodone is a Class A controlled strong opioid under the Misuse of Drugs Act (Cap. 27); it is NOT named in the capital Second Schedule (which sets weight-based death thresholds for morphine/heroin), so the drug-specific capital tier for oxycodone is left to confirmation.
Consequences if caught
Unauthorised possession or supply draws imprisonment, fine and possible caning; the Second Schedule death thresholds (e.g. morphine above 30 g) name specific narcotics only — oxycodone's capital eligibility is left to confirmation.
If prescribed or medical
Handled as a controlled prescription narcotic.
Documentation
Carry a prescription and original packaging, declare controlled medicines, and confirm import rules with Brunei authorities.
