Morphine is a stupéfiant (Liste I) under the Code de la santé publique — dispensed on a secure narcotics prescription (ordonnance sécurisée).
Consequences if caught
Illicit use up to 1 year; unauthorised holding or trafficking up to 10 years.
If prescribed or medical
Prescribed as a stupéfiant for severe and cancer pain on a secure prescription.
Documentation
Within Schengen carry the Article 75 certificate for up to 30 days; ANSM authorisation applies for longer supplies.
