Is Methadone legal in Jordan?

- Controlled narcotic. Methadone is a 1961 Single Convention Schedule I opioid and Jordan furnishes annual estimates to INCB under it. The domestic statute is the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law No. 23 of 2016; no Jordanian host serving that text responded during this pass.

Jordan's legislation bureau (gbd.gov.jo), Food and Drug Administration (jfda.jo) and Ministry of Health (moh.gov.jo) were all unreachable during this pass.

- Prescribed for opioid substitution treatment as a controlled narcotic, and the figure supports it: Jordan's 2026 INCB estimated requirement for methadone is 1,600 g, four times Kuwait's 400 g. Substitution treatment is an established part of Jordanian practice.
