- Memantine is a licensed prescription medicine (recete ile satilir), not a controlled drug: memantine products (e.g. Melanda, Alios) hold TITCK marketing authorisation and are not listed among Turkey's controlled narcotic/psychotropic substances.
- Consequences if caught
- Memantine carries no controlled-substance penalty; supply outside the prescription channel is a medicines-regulation breach only.
- If prescribed or medical
- Prescribed for moderate-to-severe Alzheimer's dementia.
