Is MDPV legal in Vietnam?
- Legal status
- Controlled as a psychotropic. MDPV is a 1971 Convention Schedule II psychotropic controlled through Vietnam's controlled-substance lists (e.g. Decree 57/2022). There is no capital exposure: the death penalty for drug offences was abolished on 1 Jul 2025 under the 2025 Penal Code amendment.
- Consequences if caught
- Illegal; possession and trafficking carry heavy (non-capital) imprisonment. Not death-eligible since 1 Jul 2025. Do not carry.
- If prescribed or medical
- MDPV has no recognised medical use and no lawful prescription route in Vietnam.
- Documentation
- No lawful personal-import route for a controlled psychotropic; do not carry.
