Is Khat legal in Poland?

- Banned. PLANT NAMED: live plants, dried material, seeds, extracts and derivatives of khat (Catha edulis / 'czuwaliczka jadalna') are listed as a narcotic under the Ustawa o przeciwdziałaniu narkomanii (amendment in force 2009). Mechanism: NAMED (plant).
- Consequences if caught
- Cultivation, possession and trade of the leaf are illegal; border guards and customs regularly seize khat from travellers.
- If prescribed or medical
- Khat is traditional plant material with no recognised medical use and no lawful prescription route.
- Documentation
- No lawful personal-import route; fresh leaf is prohibited and seized at the border.
