Is Ketamine legal in Switzerland?

Legal status
Controlled narcotic-medicine — listed in Verzeichnis b under the Betäubungsmittelgesetz (BetmG), available as an authorised medicine on a standard narcotic prescription (with the Heilmittelgesetz, HMG).
Consequences if caught
Unauthorised handling or supply is punishable under the BetmG.
If prescribed or medical
Widely used anaesthetic/analgesic; esketamine (Spravato) authorised by Swissmedic (2020). Carry the original prescription.
Documentation
Schengen travel: carry prescribed narcotics with a Schengen Article 75 certificate and keep them in original packaging. Medical cannabis has been prescribable by doctors WITHOUT a special FOPH permit since August 2022.
