Is Hydrocodone legal in Iran?

- Hydrocodone is a controlled opioid under Iran's narcotics/psychotropics regime (Ministry of Health authorisation); it is not marketed in Iran. As a chemical derivative of morphine it is arguably within the Anti-Narcotics Law Art. 8 capital scope (heroin, morphine, cocaine and their chemical derivatives, death-eligible above threshold), but its specific enumeration is left to confirmation.

- No marketed Iranian hydrocodone product; a controlled opioid is dispensed only on Ministry of Health authorisation.

- Import of controlled opioids is restricted and requires Health Ministry authorisation; strong-opioid traveller import is strongly discouraged.
