Is Ephedrine legal in Switzerland?

Controlled as a precursor rather than as a drug. Ephedrine is handled in list f, the precursor list at Annex 7 of BetmVV-EDI, where the entry covers „Ephedrinhaltige Präparate“, preparations containing ephedrine, with stated exemptions for low dose preparations at 15 mg per dosage unit or 10 mg per millilitre. It is not in lists a to e, so the drug schedules are not what govern it. The ordinance keeps the precursor list f and the auxiliary chemical list g distinct from the drug lists, and the obligations attaching to a precursor are licensing, record keeping and control of trade rather than the offence structure of article 19.

Consequences if caught

Capital exposure: none.
