Legal status
2C-I is a prohibited controlled substance in Switzerland under the Narcotics Act (BetmG, SR 812.121) and its ordinances; 4-iodo-2,5-dimethoxyphenethylamine was added to the Swiss list of prohibited psychotropic substances in 2005.
Consequences if caught
Unauthorised manufacture, import, possession and sale are criminal offences under the BetmG, with trafficking carrying custodial sentences.

Listed among prohibited substances with no legal market and no authorised medical use.
