Is Delta-8-THC legal in Taiwan?

- Controlled — delta-8-THC (Δ8-THC) is caught as a tetrahydrocannabinol under the Narcotics Hazard Prevention Act, which schedules THC and its isomers (THC is a Category 2 narcotic); delta-8 is controlled as an isomer of THC. Distinct from cannabis, also Category 2. Below the capital tier (capital/life exposure attaches to Schedule 1/2 manufacture and trafficking, not to simple possession).
- Consequences if caught
- Illegal; possession and dealing penalties under the Act; manufacture/trafficking of Category 1/2 narcotics carries life or the death penalty at the top end.
- If prescribed or medical
- No recognised medical use; delta-8-THC is not a prescribable medicine.
- Documentation
- No lawful personal import of a controlled tetrahydrocannabinol.
