Legal status
Controlled — delta-8-THC (Δ8-THC) is caught as a tetrahydrocannabinol under the Poisons, Opium and Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, which controls cannabis and THC; delta-8 is controlled as an isomer of THC. Distinct from cannabis (penalised but not capital; a licensed Ayurvedic/medicinal carve-out exists that does not extend to isolated delta-8).
Consequences if caught
Illegal; general penalty (fine plus up to 5 years) — not a capital offence for cannabis-type substances.
If prescribed or medical
No recognised medical use; delta-8-THC is not a prescribable medicine.
Documentation
No lawful personal import of a controlled tetrahydrocannabinol.
