Controlled — delta-8-THC (Δ8-THC) is caught as a tetrahydrocannabinol under the NDLEA Act (Cap N30) and Nigeria's controlled-substance schedules covering cannabis and THC; delta-8 is controlled as an isomer of THC. Distinct from cannabis, fully illegal (possession/use 15–25 years). No death penalty for this substance.

Illegal; long imprisonment for possession/use and trafficking; medical and recreational cannabis-type products prohibited.
If prescribed or medical
No recognised medical use; delta-8-THC is not a prescribable medicine.
