Is 7-Hydroxymitragynine (7-OH) legal in Portugal?

- 7-Hydroxymitragynine, a kratom alkaloid, is controlled together with the plant (no separate isolate carve-out): it is named explicitly alongside mitragynine and Mitragyna speciosa in the NPS list under DL 54/2013 (amended by Portaria 232/2022) — production/import/sale prohibited, personal possession decriminalised.

- Personal use is decriminalised (referred to a Dissuasion Commission); production, import, sale or advertising of the NPS is prohibited and prosecuted.
- If prescribed or medical
- No lawful medical route — kratom and its alkaloids are listed NPS with no authorised Portuguese medicine.

- No lawful personal-import route for supply; personal possession is decriminalised rather than lawful.
