Legal status
2C-I is a controlled substance in Portugal listed under Decree-Law 15/93; Portugal was obliged to control 4-iodo-2,5-dimethoxyphenethylamine after it was named in Council Decision 2003/847/JHA (27 Nov 2003).
Consequences if caught
Personal possession up to a 10-day supply is an administrative offence (decriminalised, not legalised) with the substance seized; production and trafficking remain criminal offences.
