Legal status
2C-I is a controlled narcotic in Sweden; Sweden was obliged to control 4-iodo-2,5-dimethoxyphenethylamine after it was named for EU-wide control by Council Decision 2003/847/JHA (27 Nov 2003).
Consequences if caught
Possession and personal use are criminal offences (fines to imprisonment); supply and trafficking carry escalating prison terms under the Narcotic Drugs (Punishments) Act.
