Is 3-MMC legal in Singapore?

Confirmed against a primary sourceVerified July 14, 2026
Legal status
3-MMC (3-methylmethcathinone) is controlled, reached by Singapore's class-based scheduling of cathinone NPS under the Misuse of Drugs Act (First-Schedule Class A / Fifth-Schedule NPS class), which captures cathinone derivatives.
Consequences if caught
MDA trafficking is a severe offence, but 3-MMC sits BELOW the capital tier: the Second-Schedule death-penalty thresholds are drug-specific (heroin, methamphetamine, cocaine, etc.) and cathinones/3-MMC are not on that capital list — heavy imprisonment and caning, not the mandatory death penalty.
If prescribed or medical
No recognised medical use and no lawful prescription route.
Documentation
No lawful personal-import route; zero-tolerance enforcement even though not a capital-listed drug.
