Zolpidem is prescribed short-term for insomnia as a controlled psychotropic hypnotic.
Documentation
A traveller carrying prescribed zolpidem needs a doctor's certificate if the total exceeds 300 mg, and an import confirmation (yakkan shoumei) if more than a one-month supply.
