Is Scopolamine (Devil's Breath) legal in Turkey?

Confirmed against a primary sourceVerified July 14, 2026
Legal status
Scopolamine (hyoscine) is a licensed medicine, not a controlled drug: butylscopolamine (Buscopan) and scopolamine products hold TITCK marketing authorisation and are not listed among Turkey's controlled narcotic/psychotropic substances.
Consequences if caught
Scopolamine carries no controlled-substance penalty; supply outside the authorised channel is a medicines-regulation breach only.
If prescribed or medical
Buscopan (butylscopolamine, Boehringer Ingelheim) is dispensed for spasm; scopolamine is used clinically in premedication.
Documentation
Butylscopolamine/scopolamine formulations are documented in TITCK product information (KÜB/KT); carried lawfully.
