Is Methylphenidate legal in Iraq?

- Scheduled psychotropic under the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Law No. 50 of 2017; a controlled ADHD medicine.
- Consequences if caught
- Non-trafficking possession ~1–3 years + fines. Trafficking of a scheduled psychotropic is death/life eligible (Art. 27); methylphenidate is a licit medicine — carry a prescription/permit.
- If prescribed or medical
- Prescription ADHD/narcolepsy medicine (e.g. Ritalin/Concerta) via controlled channels; carry the original prescription and any required import permit.
