Is Methylphenidate legal in Saudi Arabia?

- Scheduled psychotropic under the Law of Combating Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances (Royal Decree M/39, 2005); a controlled ADHD medicine requiring SFDA import approval.
- Consequences if caught
- Possession/use: imprisonment + fine. Trafficking of a scheduled psychotropic is capitally exposed under Art. 37; methylphenidate is a licit medicine but must be carried with a permit/prescription (capital enforcement targets illicit ATS/Captagon).
- If prescribed or medical
- Prescription ADHD/narcolepsy medicine (e.g. Ritalin/Concerta) via controlled channels; carry the original prescription and any required import permit.
