Is Methylphenidate legal in Jordan?
- Legal status
- Scheduled psychotropic under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law No. 23 of 2016 (amended 2021); a controlled ADHD medicine.
- Consequences if caught
- Personal possession/use ~1–3 years + fine. The death penalty is narrow (aggravated international-gang trafficking); methylphenidate is a licit medicine — carry a prescription.
- If prescribed or medical
- Prescription ADHD/narcolepsy medicine (e.g. Ritalin/Concerta) via controlled channels; carry the original prescription and any required import permit.
