- Unauthorised export/diversion of ephedrine carries administrative/criminal sanctions (DPR 309/90 art. 70) — precursor offences distinct from the art. 73 drug-trafficking penalties.
- If prescribed or medical
- Also a pharmacy/prescription decongestant-bronchodilator medicine subject to sales limits; carry documentation for a personal supply.

- For personal patient travel within Schengen, carry a Schengen Article 75 certificate for medical cannabis or narcotics, plus the prescription; keep medicines in original packaging.
