Is Adderall legal in Indonesia?
- Legal status
- Adderall (mixed amphetamine salts) has no separate legal identity — it is regulated AS amphetamine: narkotika Golongan I ('Amfetamina') under Narcotics Law No. 35/2009.
- Consequences if caught
- Possession (art. 112) 4–12 years. Trafficking Golongan I non-plant >5 g is DEATH-PENALTY-ELIGIBLE (arts. 113/114) — discretionary. Amphetamine carries capital exposure.
- If prescribed or medical
- Effectively unavailable as medicine. Indonesia’s assessed 2026 requirements are amfetamine 5 g and dexamfetamine 10 g — effectively no licit supply — against methylphenidate at 97,000 g. Do not expect to fill or replace a Adderall prescription locally. Indonesia has furnished INCB no traveller regulation (“Information not yet provided by country”), so no published national rule confirms what a visitor may carry.
- Documentation
- Original prescription stating your name, the medication, dosage, and purpose; a doctor's letter; original packaging; declare on the customs form. Prescriptions for more than 14 days may not be honoured. Foreign origin or ignorance of the law is not a defence, and the zero-tolerance regime applies equally to foreigners.
