Is 7-Hydroxymitragynine (7-OH) legal in Italy?

- 7-Hydroxymitragynine, a kratom alkaloid, is controlled together with the plant (no separate isolate carve-out) as a constituent of Mitragyna speciosa, which is listed in Table I of the narcotics tables (DPR 309/90) by MoH decree of 1 August 2016.
- Consequences if caught
- Personal-use possession is administrative (art. 75); dealing or trafficking a Table I substance is criminal under art. 73 (multi-year imprisonment).
- If prescribed or medical
- No lawful medical route — kratom and its alkaloids sit in Table I with no authorised Italian medicine.
- Documentation
- No lawful personal-import route for a Table I narcotic.
