Is Tramadol legal in Malaysia?

- Tramadol is a psychotropic controlled under the Poisons Act 1952 and the Poisons (Psychotropic Substances) Regulations 1989 (Group C); it is NOT scheduled under the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, so the mandatory-death trafficking tiers do not attach to tramadol.
- Consequences if caught
- Possession or supply outside a prescription breaches the Poisons Act (fine and/or imprisonment); tramadol is not death-eligible.
- If prescribed or medical
- Dispensed as a Group C psychotropic prescription medicine.
- Documentation
- Carry a prescription or doctor's letter with original packaging for a personal supply only.
