- Scopolamine (hyoscine) is a scheduled medicine under the Poisons Standard (SUSMP), not a controlled or prohibited drug: hyoscine hydrobromide is not a Schedule 8 controlled drug. The Scopoderm TTS motion-sickness patch is a Schedule 3 Pharmacist Only Medicine, and Buscopan (hyoscine butylbromide) is available over the counter.
- Consequences if caught
- Hyoscine attracts no controlled-drug penalty; supply of a Schedule 3 medicine without a pharmacist is a state poisons-law offence, not a narcotics-trafficking offence.
- If prescribed or medical
- The Scopoderm TTS patch is supplied by pharmacists (S3) for motion sickness; Buscopan (hyoscine butylbromide) is OTC for spasm; injectable hyoscine hydrobromide is used clinically.

- Scopoderm is ARTG-registered (233258) by the TGA as a Pharmacist Only motion-sickness patch; travellers carry it lawfully.
