Is Quetiapine legal in Singapore?

Confirmed against a primary sourceVerified July 14, 2026
Legal status
Quetiapine is a prescription-only medicine, not a controlled drug: Seroquel, Seroquel XR and quetiapine generics are registered therapeutic products with the HSA (e.g. SIN09771P) and do not appear in the schedules of the Misuse of Drugs Act.
Consequences if caught
Quetiapine falls outside the Misuse of Drugs Act, so Singapore's controlled-drug regime does not reach this approved medicine; unauthorised sale of a prescription-only medicine is a Health Products Act offence only.
If prescribed or medical
Prescribed as an atypical antipsychotic for schizophrenia and bipolar disorder; dispensed only on prescription.
Documentation
Seroquel and quetiapine products are HSA-registered and listed in the National Drug Formulary; travellers carry it lawfully with a prescription.
