Oxycodone (oxicodona) is an estupefaciente under Articles 234/226 fracción I of the General Health Law (Ley General de Salud), dispensed on a special barcoded narcotics prescription; it fell under tightened COFEPRIS controls in 2023 — a marketed strong opioid.
Consequences if caught
Sale, supply or possession above narcomenudeo thresholds is trafficking (up to 10+ years); prescribed personal use is lawful.
If prescribed or medical
Prescribed on the special COFEPRIS narcotics prescription with a barcode.
Documentation
Carry a personal supply with the prescription/medical letter and declare it; COFEPRIS-linked authorisation is needed to import controlled narcotics.
