Is Morphine legal in Malaysia?

Legal status
Morphine is a scheduled, controlled dangerous drug under the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 and is death-eligible: possession of 15 g or more of morphine triggers the s.37(da) trafficking presumption, and s.39B trafficking now carries a discretionary death penalty or 30-40 years plus at least 12 strokes (mandatory death abolished 2023).
Consequences if caught
Unauthorised possession draws imprisonment and whipping; trafficking of 15 g or more of morphine is death-eligible under s.39B.
If prescribed or medical
Available on prescription as a dangerous-drug narcotic for severe and cancer pain under strict controlled-drug records.
Documentation
Carry a prescription and original packaging and obtain any required import approval for controlled narcotics; declare on entry.
